Uttar Pradesh: 4 Students Die After Inhaling Toxic Gas While Cleaning Sanskrit School Underground Water Tank
Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: At least four students were killed and one injured after they were exposed to suspected toxic gas while cleaning an underground water tank. The students were forced to inhale the toxic at a Sanskrit school (Gurukulam) in Vrindavan’s Chaitanya Vihar.
The tragedy struck at Maharishi Panini Gurukul in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. Students identified as Manu Katare, Vishu Sharma, Aryan Pandey, and Devansh Sharma, aged 16 to 22, lost their lives after entering the 12- to 14-foot-deep water tank to clean it.

The students were reportedly sked to clean the underground tank after foul-smelling came from it. A boy climbed in, and didn’t come out. Subsequently, four others went down after him to pull him out. All five collapsed, apparently from toxic gas trapped inside. They were eventually rescued and rushed to hospital. Four were declared dead, while the fifth, survived and is under treatment.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has took note of the incident and promised aid to the families of the affected students.

The deceased have been identified as Manu Katare, Vishu Sharma, Aryan Pandey and Devansh Sharma, aged roughly 16 to 20. About 100 students live at the gurukul, which is run by Ashish Kumar Sharma who fled from the premises after the incident.
