UP Cop Seen Dragging And Beating Muslim Boy; Investigation Initiated

In yet another instance of a hate incident, a police officer from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad was seen dragging and slapping a Muslim boy. The video of the incident shared on social media has been going viral, with many expressing their concern over the rising anti-Muslim hate incidents in India. Sharing the purported video, actor Swara Bhaskar wrote that the UP police is just a “bunch of unbridled Muslim haters.” “Absolutely shameful conduct,” Swara Bhaskar wrote.

Swara Bhaskar, who is often seen raising her voice against the injustice further asked Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath and the Uttar Pradesh police if this was their “great governance” and called it a “disgusting unconstitutional display!”

“UP police is just a bunch of unbridled Muslim haters. Absolutely shameful conduct. Is this your great governance @myogiadityanath @myogioffice @Uppolice @ghaziabadpolice Disgusting unconstitutional display!,” the post reads.

The The police officer is learnt to be Sub-inspector Bhanuprakash and the victim an e-rickshaw driver, Sohail.

However, the state police were quick to react to the incident stating that the Additional Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate Ghaziabad has been directed to investigate the matter and take legal actions, it assured in a social media post.

In a follow-up post, the official handle of the police commissioner Ghaziabad shared images of the police hearing the complainants in the office. The post shared on its X handle (formerly Twitter) said that Additional Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate Ghaziabad Dinesh Kumar is talking to the people who have brought complaints in the police office and listening to their problems and the concerns were directed for quality and timely disposal.

 Amid the general election, the hate incident has been on the rise, with even Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself being seen making derogatory remarks against Muslims calling them “Infiltrators” and those who have “more children.” Though the Prime Minister’s speech invited widespread criticism from the opposition, the Election Commission has declined to comment on the matter.
