Applications are being accepted from qualified candidates for the 269 sanctioned Grade III Constable positions in the Assamese Directorate of Home Guards and Civil Defence. Applications must be submitted online through SLPRB website (www.slprbassam.in). Application will be accepted through online mode only no other forms of application will be entertained. The application will be received with effect from 01-02-2024 and the last date of receiving application will be 15-02-2024.

The posts lie under the Pay Scale of Rs. 14000 – 60500/- with Grade Pay Rs.5600/- (PB-2) and other Allowances, as admissible under the rules.

Five of the 269 available spots are designated for ex-service members. The remaining 264 seats are split between 186 male and 78 female candidates. There are 82 seats available in the Unreserved category (UR), 64 in the OBC/MOBC, 12 in the SC, and 72 in the ST (P/H).

Assam Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should pass a H.S.L.C or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council. They should also possess Home Guard Certificate or Minimum NCC ‘A’ Certificate. It should be noted that the persons having H.S.L.C. passed certificate but not possessing Home Guards Training Certificate or minimum NCC ‘A’ Certificate are not eligible to apply.

The candidate should be aged between 18 to 40 years. Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in Assam and must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Assam Recruitment: Selection Procedure

Candidates whose applications are determined to be accurate in every way will be required to take the Physical Efficiency Tests (PET) and the Physical Standards Tests (PST) after document verification. Later candidates will be called for Written Test of total 50 marks that will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions.

The subjects to be covered includes Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical reasoning/Mental ability, Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Awareness/General Knowledge and current affairs The question paper for Written Exam will be in the Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/English languages.
