Assam is set to recruit lakhs of youngsters in the state government with the aim of creating a brighter future for them. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this in a post on social media platform X, saying that the Government of Assam has advertised 12,600 vacancies for Grade III and IV positions, 5,000 vacancies in the police department, and 3,000 vacancies in the health department.
Additionally, the government is poised to call for 10,000 vacancies in the education department. According to CM Sarma, the move is part of the government”s relentless efforts to make the future brighter for the youth.
Earlier on Monday, CM Sarma had announced his government”s plan to construct 4,000 state-of-the-art schools in the state by 2028.
“With the blessings of Hon”ble PM, Assam is undertaking the biggest ever effort to build schools in the state. 4,000 state-of-the-art schools will be constructed by 2028, i.e. adding 2 new schools every day for the next 5 years. Chaired a meeting today to review the progress,” Sarma wrote in a post on social media platform X.
According to the officials, the review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister was attended by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, registered contractors, empaneled architects, and engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD).
The meeting was conducted to review the ongoing construction work of 126 new secondary schools in the state through the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode of contract, as informed by the officials.
Minister Pegu said that these 4,000 schools would be constructed through EPC mode of contract.
“The EPC mode of contract has been adopted to expeditiously construct about 4000 secondary schools in a phased manner,” he posted on X.
