IAF Starts Agniveer Vayu 2024 Application Process From July 8: Eligibility, Qualification, And Other Details

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced recruitment for Agniveer Vayu vacancies under the Agnipath scheme for 2024. The application process will begin on July 8 and last till July 28. Interested and eligible candidates can join the Indian Armed Forces through this recruitment process. To apply for the given posts candidates can visit the official website – agnipathvayu.cdac.in.

To apply for the IAF, applicants must be unmarried and should not exceed 21 years of age at the time of enrollment after clearing all selection stages. A candidate must be born between July 3, 2004, and January 3, 2008.

For science subjects, candidates must pass intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and English with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English. alternatively, complete a 3-year diploma course in engineering with an aggregate of 50% marks in English.

For non-science streams, a candidate must complete intermediate or equivalent education in any stream with an aggregate of 50% marks in all subjects and English. Or complete a two-year vocational course with similar marks.

To appear for the examination a candidate should pass a medical standard set by the armed forces.

Applicants are required to pay a fee of Rs 550 to submit the final application.

As per the Air Force Act 1950, the Agniveervayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force for four years. This will be a distinct rank which is different from any existing ranks. IAF is not obliged to retain Agniveervayu beyond a four-year duration, the official notification stated.

The Agnipath Yojna has created a nationwide uproar among the youth who want to join the Indian Armed Services due to the short duration of services. In the recent Lok Sabha Election 2024, the Congress party manifesto promised to scrap the scheme.
