IAS Jitin Yadav Shares His Service Preferences For DAF; Asks Candidates To Research Well

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued a Civil Service Examination (CSE) 2025 notification for 979 posts on January 22, 2025. In a new, the UPSC this time has asked candidates to fill out the Detailed Application Form (DAF) where candidates will have to give their service cadre preference before the preliminary examination.

Filling out the service preference has always been a tough task for candidates as this stage of choice-making will impact their next 30-35 years in service. To help out candidates to fill their choices, the West Bengal cadres IAS officer Jatin Yadav has shared his service preferences and asked candidates to ‘research well’ before filling out the application form.

The 2016 batch IAS officer said candidates to not rush. ‘While filling service preferences, remember this choice is for life’, he said.

Jatin Yadav shared a chart of his service choices after attaining 8 years of service experience. “My service preferences would look like this’, he said.
