
SSC Recommends Only 23 Candidates For 333 Grade 'C' Steno Posts In 2024 Result
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the Grade ‘C’ Stenographer Limited Departmental Competitive Examination final result for the year 2024. The results are available on ssc official website – ssc.gov.in. A name-wise list of the selected candidates for the respective departments are available on the official website.
The result of the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) for Grade ‘C’ Steno examination 2023 and 2024 was declared by the commission on June 14, 2024. A total of 485 candidates were called for the 2024 exam in the skill test in Stenography held on December 6, 2024. The commission declared the result of the skill test on March 27, 2025, for evaluation of APARs of the candidates who qualified for the skill test of the exam.

The Departmental exam was held for the following departments and the given seats.
- Central Secretariat Stenographers Services, DoPT (No of Seats – 314)
- Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Services (No of Seats – 6)
- Indian Foreign Service Branch (B) Stenographers (No of Seats – 7)
- National Technical Research Organization (No. of Seats – 5)
- Election Commission of India (No of Seats – 1)
Notably, the SSC held Grade ‘C’ exam for a total of 333 seats; however, as per the result released, only 23 candidates are recommended for the total vacant posts. The ratio of the vacant seats and selected candidates remained below 10%.
For Central Secretariat posts, only a total of 13 candidates have been recommended. ST- 1, SC – 1, and UR – 11
For Armed Forces posts, only 4 candidates are recommended from the Unreserved category. ST and SC posts remained vacant.
For Indian Foreign posts, 4 candidates got selected. One from the SC category and 3 from the UR category.
For National Technical Research posts, 2 candidates from the UR category have been recommended.
