Total 11 Candidates Died During Physical Tests Of Jharkhand Constable Exam

A total of 11 candidates died during the physical test of the Jharkhand Excise Constable Competition Exam, since August 22, 2024, as per the police reports. However, efforts were made to determine the cause behind these deaths, police said.

Amol V Homkar, IG (Operations) said that unfortunately, 11 candidates have died during the physical running tests at various centres. Among the unnatural deaths that occurred during the physical test were 4 deaths in Palamu, 2 each in Giridih and Hazaribagh, and 1 each in Ranchi, East Singhbhum, and Sahibganj.

Authorities are trying to complete the tests as early as possible in the morning time so that candidates do not face extreme heat, Homkar said. Special arrangements have been made for medicines and ambulances at all 7 centres along with stretchers, Oral rehydration salt (ORS) drinks, and other medical facilities.

A total of 1,27,772 candidates appeared for the physical tests till August 30 and out of which 78,023 candidates have cleared the tests. The recruitment drive is ongoing for 583 posts under JSSC. Candidates who have cleared class 10th matric exam in any recognised board in India is eligible for the recruitment under this process.

For the selection to these posts candidates will have to go through multiple stages including Physical Test, Written Examination and Medical Check Up.
