Idukki, Kerala: In a tragic event, a KSRTC bus in Kerala’s Idukki fell into a gorge, killing at least four people and injuring several others. The tragedy occurred near Pullupara in the hill district on Monday morning.
The bus was reportedly carrying at least 34 passengers when it plunged into a 30-foot gorge. The passengers were tourists from Mavelikkara and were returning when the bus lost control at a bend, allegedly due to brake damage at 6 am.

Notably, preventing more fatalities, the bus came to a halt after hitting trees. The injured have been shifted to hospitals in Peerumedu and Mundakkayam, and the rescue operations are underway with teams from the Fire Force, Highway Police, and Motor Vehicle Department at the site.
According to reports, further investigation will be done to determine the exact cause of the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to a private hospital in Mundakayam. They will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem, according to the police.

According to the eyewitnesses, the huge tragedy could have been occurred unless the bus struck in the tree in the gorge. The locals reportedly rushed to the spot, initially starting rescue operations, minimising casualties.
