Alappuzha, Kerala: A 19-year-old unmarried girl, who came to treat a stomach ailment, gave birth to a baby in Haripad Government Talk hospital toilet on Tuesday night, May 26. The girl, who reportedly concealed her pregnancy, threw the newborn out of the toilet through the window.

As some of the staff found the baby, the newborn was saved. The girl hid her pregnancy from her family, and the came to the hospital to treat stomach-related ailments. As per the doctor, the girl had claimed that she was having a period when asked about the difficulties. The duty doctor says the woman claimed she only needed pain relief medicine.

‘We had suspicion that she was showing symptoms of pregnancy, and we put her under observation. At night, some of the staff and security heard the sound of a newborn crying from the toilet. When they searched, they could not find the baby but the signs of delivery,’ the doctor explained.

After that, the staff searched the premises and found the baby from outside the complex. The baby was saved safely and is under treatment, the doctor clarified while speaking to local media.
