Pahalgam Terror Attack: Daughter Of N Ramachandran Subjected To Vicious Cyber Attack

Kochi: Arathi, a Kochi native who lost her father to the recent deadly terror attack in Pahalgam is now being subjected to vicious cyber abuse criticising her media respone. Her father, N Ramachandran is among the 26 people gunned down by militants in Pahalgam‘s Baisaran valley.

Arathi, who survived the deadly attack along with her mother and twin sons spoke the harrowing details of the ordeal to the media after reaching hometown. She narrated the incident to the media in calm and composed manner which became the target of cruel cyber attack, spewing hateful and communal remarks towards her.

Some users criticised her for not shedding tears while talking about father’s death – the ‘feelings’ of witnessing father being gunned down in front of her eyes is not visible in her voice or in body language. Some snubbed her for the the ‘lightness’ in manner in which she spoke about father’s death.

Arathi then mentioned about how local people in Kashmir were helpful for their safe return from the place and how strangers acted like family in the dire situation.

“My driver Musafir and another man, Sameer– they became my brothers. They stood by me through everything, took me to the mortuary, helped with the formalities…I waited there till 3 AM. They took care of me like a sister,” Arathi recounted.

“I have two brothers in Kashmir now. May Allah protect you both,” she added.

This expression of affinity and her praising of Muslim drivers as brothers were also subjected to communal remarks.

Meanwhile, many users came forward and praised her for the bravery in handling such situation. They have also lauded for the calmness and composure in which she detailed the horrific and traumatic incident, despite losing her father.
