Wayanad Landslide: Videos Show Horrific Moments Of Panicked People Running For Life

Wayanad, Kerala: Terrific visuals from the landslide-hit Wayanad shows panic stricken people running for their lives as thick slush and mud barrelling down upon them. The videos shows vehicles including bus and lorry being swept by the mudslide. The landslide struck at Kalladi, near the Meenakshi Bridge close to Meppady.

The mudslide directly hit the site of the ongoing Anakkompoyil-Meppadi tunnel road project, trapping labourers. At least four people are confirmed dead while eight are reported missing. Rescue operations are underway to find the missing persons. Chief minister VD Satheesan said that the forces are in the site and they are taking recovery measures to find out the persons those who are missing.

“Now the the forces are there from the Meenangadi. And the fire force and the police are taking recovery measures to find out the persons those who are missing,” the chief minister said.
