As the poll campaign of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections is slated to end on Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said that the BJP will get only 150 seats in the upcoming 2024 general elections. The Wayanad MP stated that he does “not do predictions” of seats. “15-20 days ago I was thinking BJP would win around 180 seats but now I think they will get 150 seats.” Rahul Gandhi said. The Congress leader further said that he is getting reports from every states that they are “improving.”
During the press conference held today in Uttar Pradesh”s Ghaziabad with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi further said, “We have a very strong alliance in Uttar Pradesh and we will perform very well…” SP and Congress have allied to confront the saffron camp in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
To the question about his potential nomination from Amethi, the constituency he represented from 2004 to 2019, the Congress leader responded by saying that it was in the hands of the party”s Central Election Committee (CEC) and he would abide by its decision whatever it takes. However, with a week left for the phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Congress is yet to decide its candidate from its former citadel.
During the press conference, Samajwadi Chief Akhilesh Yadav wished people on the occasion of Ram Navami. “I am happy that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Samajwadi Party are doing a press conference together…Today, we are in Ghaziabad and this time INDIA alliance will wipe out BJP from Ghaziabad to Ghazipur. Today, farmers are upset as all the promises of BJP turned out to be fake…”
Referring to the electoral bond, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said that BJP leaders are not only taking corrupts in their party but also keeping the money earned by the corrupts.
