As per the live updates of the 2024 Lok Sabha election results, in the Domariyaganj constituency, Jagdambika Pal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won with a winning margin of 42728 votes and secured a total of 463303 votes, where Bhishma Shankar Alias Kushal Tiwari of the Samajwadi Party (SP) came second with a total of 420575.
Jagdambika Pal is the sitting MP of the BJP. He served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for a brief period of one day in 1998. Since 2009, he has been a member of the Lok Sabha from the Domariyaganj constituency. Initially, in the 15th Lok Sabha, he represented the Indian National Congress, but he later resigned on 7 March 2014. Then, in 2014, he joined in the BJP and made a comeback to the Lok Sabha.
He parted his ways from the Indian National Congress to join All India Indira Congress (Tiwari) of N. D. Tiwari, but in 1997, he formed Akhil Bharatiya Loktantrik Congress along with Naresh Agarwal, Rajeev Shukla and Shyam Sunder Sharma and Bacha Pathak and became Minister of Transport in Kalyan Singh government.
Later, Jagdambika Pal became the president of the Uttar Pradesh state unit of the Indian National Congress. In 2009 he was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Domariyaganj Lok Sabha constituency in Siddharthnagar district, Uttar Pradesh.
Bhishma Shankar Tiwari commenced his political journey by affiliating with the BJP, under whose banner he contested for the Lok Sabha election from Balrampur in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Later, he served as a Member of Parliament representing the Bahujan Samaj Party in the 14th and 15th Lok Sabha from the Sant Kabir Nagar constituency. In December 2021, Tiwari made the decision to join the Samajwadi Party.
