“Muslim Men Use Condoms The Most”: Owaisi Fires Back At Modi’s Jab image-facebook/Asaduddin Owaisi)All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his controversial remark on Muslims. Owaisi directly addressing PM Modi’s claim that more children are born into the Muslim community, said that the fertility rate among Muslims in India has dropped.
He further added that men from the Muslim community use condoms the most. While speaking at a rally in Hyderabad, Owaisi said, “Narendra Modi is instilling fear among Hindus that Muslims will become the majority community. How long will you create fear about the Muslims. Our religion is different but we belong to this country”.
“Why are you creating fear that Muslims produce more children? According to data from the Modi government, the population growth and fertility among Muslims has decreased. Muslims use condoms most, and I have no shame in saying this…” Owaisi thundered.
Neither the BJP nor the Prime Minister has responded, so far.
Last week, Narendra Modi stirred a political storm over his remark on Muslims. While addressing a rally in Rajasthan, Modi said, “The Congress manifesto says they will calculate the gold with mothers and sisters, get information about it and then distribute that property. They will distribute it to whom – Manmohan Singh’s government had said that Muslims have the first right on the country’s assets.”
Modi’s remark provoked an angry response from opposition parties. “If anyone uses condoms the most among men in India, they are Muslims. I am not saying this. This is government data,” Owaisi said.
Opposition parties including Congress filed a complaint against PM Modi before the Election Commission. A notice was sent to BJP Chief JP Nadda and her counterpart, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge after a complaint was filed against Rahul Gandhi. The poll panel has requested all the star campaigners to ensure that they follow guidelines for a “higher quality of political discourse”. They were told to file responses by 11 am this morning.
