In the past, Bangalore Central Constituency was won three times by the saffron party and five times by the grand old party. The constituency representing the heart of the city comprise eight assembly seats. Both Congress and BJP holds significant influence in the region, but by winning the constituency in the past three times, the latter manages to enjoys a considerable edge. However, there are chances that equations may have changed since grand old party secured a landslide victory in the Assembly elections held last year.

Meanwhile, Congress has given ticket to Mansoor Ali Khan to field against PC Mohan in the Bangalore Central seat. He is the son of former Union Minister K Rahman Khan.
