Award Winning Journalist Saurabh Shukla Leaves NDTV

Saurabh Shukla, an award winning journalist quit NDTV. Mr. Shulka has been working for NDTV for about 13 years as Senior Special Correspondent/Anchor. The reason behind Mr. Shulka’s resignation is not revealed yet.

Starting his career as journalist, Saurabh Shukla entered NDTV at the age of 20 after completing his studies from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University which was formerly known as Kanpur University.

Mr. Shulka’s reporting during Covi 19 pandemic, Delhi riots and farmers’ movement garnered him recognition and high appreciations. He won the International Press Institute (IPI) award in 2022 for his talent at international level.

IPI Award is not the only award in Mr. Shukla’s career. He won the title of young Professional of the year award in 2018 under Enba Award given by Exchange4Media. He also won Red Ink awards in 2020 and 2021. He bagged News4Media Journalism 40under40 Award two times.

Shulka is the latest name to the series of resignation from NDTV. Earlier, the company’s founders, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy sold 27.26 percent of the 32.26 percent remaining, after Adani Group became major shareholders of the network. Adani Group became the major shareholder after the Adani enterprise, the media arms of the group acquired thirty percent share.

On November 2022, both the Roys left their role as the directors of the Company. Several senior journalists from the NDTV has resigned after the Adani takeover, including Nidhi Razdan, Sreenivasan Jian among others. Senior news anchor and editor Sarah Jacobe also bid good bye to NDTV earlier this year.

Resignation of noted journalist of the channel, Ravish Kumar came a day after the Roys left the channel. The channel’s group President Suparna Singh, strategy chief Arijit Chatterjee and chief technology and product officer Kawaljit Singh Bedi also quit from the channel in January 2023.
