Journalists Tussle Over The Smoke Canister That Caused The Security Breach At The Parliament

After the mayhem caused by the security breach in the Parliament, during which two men jumped from gallery jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber carrying smoke canisters emitting an unidentified yellow smoke, what followed was another amusing mayhem between notable journalists over one of the smoke canisters that was used by the protesters. A video of the incident is going viral on social media platforms that showed a reporter from TV9 holding the yellow smoke canister.

As the reporter tried to report about the incident holding the canister in hand, some other journalists including senior journalist from News18 Pallavi Ghosh tried to snatch the smoke canister from his hand.

The TV9 reporter struggled to report the incident through out the 2.29 minutes video, during which he was seen breathing hard while speaking to make his point clear. He was heard saying, “Pallavi ji, please don’t do this”. The fight got intense to the point he had to request for 30 seconds. He was heard saying, “just 30 seconds, promise”, implying that he will give away the smoke canister after that.

Pallavi Ghosh was seen following him. After 30 seconds, he was again ambushed by the journalists. Pallavi Josh was heard as saying, “har chees ka ek limit hotha hai (there is a limit for everything), while another journalist snatched the smoke canister from his hand and ran.

The video went viral on internet. Netizens, after witnessing this ‘mayhem’ outside the Parliament started slamming the journalists. Journalists from other media also shared the video on their social media platform.

Muhammed Zubair, Alt News editor shared the video and captioned it with “Indian Media Circus”.

Pooja Prasanna of The News Minute remarked “Kudos to the TV9 reporter for managing to fend off others so spiritedly for so long”.

News Laundry’s Abhinandan Sekhri could not believe what had happened. He said, “satire can’t match the actual ridiculousness of news”.

One of the X (formerly twitter) shared the video by calling it the “Comedy Night at the Parliament”.

Pallavi Ghosh responded to the internet mocking and asked whether showing the evidence is “now a butt of jokes”.
