The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had taken responsibility for the murder of former three-time MLA and former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique.

However, the recent murder has raised questions regarding how the man behind the bar has operated the mission to murder the minister. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi alleged that the police force seems completely “helpless and toothless” while serving under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah.

“A man who is under the arrest in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat continues to threaten and carry out contract killing in Mumbai. Our Mumbai polis was never so helpless and toothless as it seems under this Gujarati duo serving CM of the state,” she wrote.

Piyush Rai, the journalist also raised concern regarding the involvement of white collars in the case in his post on X.

“Lawrence Bishnoi is unarguably the most mysterious and notorious gangster in contemporary times. For a man lodges in a Gujarati prison, he has not only been operating freely but also staying ahead of the country’s top law enforcing agencies in announcing his targets and going after them with ease. Is this possible without white collar help?”, he wrote.

Veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai also questioned if Bishnoi was behind the murder of the politician, with the Y Security for Baba, how did the perpetrators had stroke him so easily on X.

“Mumbai police suspect Lawrence Bishnoi hand in Baba Siddiqui killing. If the killers turn out to be from Lawrence Bishnoi gang, here is the question: how is someone locked up in Tihar jail running a cross country, trans national gang of shooters with such impunity? And if Baba had Y security protection and death threats , how did the killers strike so easily? Is Bishnoi the new ‘boss’ of the new generation gangland? Worrying,” he added.
