The Arsenal Football Club, the English professional football club based in Holloway, North London has sold its naming right for its training ground to a Dubai-based real estate firm. The Dubai developer has renamed the training centre located at London Colney, in Hertfordshire, next to junction 22 of the M25 as Sobha Realty Training Centre. The training centre will be known as Sobha Realty Centre from Friday onwards.
Arsenal also known as Gunners renamed their training ground for the first time since its arrival in 1999. As per the deal, the Dubai-based developer will become the club’s training kit sleeve partner and the Sobha Realty logo will also appear on the sleeve of the Arsenal training kit. The agreement marks a fresh move to enhance the club’s economic stability.
Talking about the agreement, Arsenal sporting director Edu said that this is a very exciting agreement. “It will help us develop the best possible environment for our men’s and women’s players, coaches and support staff for years to come. Our training centre is a big part of our people’s lives. It’s not just about working hard on the pitches, but also working in our office spaces, learning, relaxing and spending time with teammates, colleagues and their families,” Mr Edu said.
However, the latest development followed the club’s increased investment in enhancing its training facilities in recent years. It added bespoke facilities for their women’s team among others in its growth drive.
Arsenal chief commercial officer Juliet Slot praised the renamed Sobha Realty terming it a dynamic business with big ambitions. Juliet Slot further noted that the Club is moving forward with world-class facilities by exploring the available opportunities. “Their unrivalled experience will help us understand and explore the opportunities available to us, ensuring we’re always moving forward with world-class facilities for the future.” Juliet Slot added.
