Chahal & Dhanashree Are Now Officially Divorced, Cite This Reason For The Split
Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, dancer and actress Dhanashree Verma, have officially divorced.
The couple, who were married for four years, appeared in a family court in Bandra, Mumbai, on Wednesday and were granted a divorce, as per reports.
According to the reports, the couple cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce. They had been living separately for the past 18 months. The divorce proceedings were amicable, with both parties agreeing to the terms of the separation.
The divorce was a mutual decision, and Chahal has reportedly agreed to provide Dhanashree with a settlement of Rs 60 crore.

Chahal and Dhanashree met during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Chahal, who was 30 years old at the time, was taking online dance classes, and Dhanashree was his instructor.
They started talking and realised they had a lot in common. After their first meeting, Chahal and Dhanashree met in person in Mumbai. They decided to get married soon after, with the blessings of their families.
The couple’s whirlwind romance culminated in a grand wedding ceremony in December 2020. However, their marriage was short-lived, and they began living separately just a year after their wedding.
Before their divorce was finalised, both Chahal and Dhanashree posted cryptic messages on social media, hinting at their separation. Dhanashree wrote, “Sometimes you have to stop and let go.” Chahal posted a message thanking God for always being with him.

However, Dhanashree still keeps Chahal’s picture with her on Instagram. Conversely, Chahal has deleted all photos of the couple and unfollowed Dhanashree on Instagram.
The speculation started in late 2024 when people noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram. This led to discussions about potential trouble in their marriage.
The rumours gained more attention when RJ Mahvash posted pictures of a Christmas celebration in 2024, where Chahal was present.
This led to further speculations about his personal life. Dhanashree had previously addressed similar rumours in the past and dismissed them as baseless. She had called out “faceless trolls” on social media for spreading misinformation.
Chahal also shared a statement in January 2025, requesting people not to indulge in false speculations. He mentioned that such rumours were causing immense distress to him and his family.
