Euro 2024: Golden Ball, Golden Boot, Best Young Player (Image: x.com/EURO2024)
As Spain won their record fourth European championship in Berlin there wasn’t any surprise entrants in the individual winners from the Euro 2024. In the final played between Spain and England in Germany, Spain defeated the English with two goals scored by Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal against England’s lone goal by Cole Palmer.
The 17-year old (was a 16 year-old till yesterday) Lamine Yamal was awarded the Best Young Player. In Berlin, Yamal also became the youngest player to win a major international trophy. Earlier in the tournament, with his screamer against France in the semifinals, he had become the youngest goal scorer in the Euro history.

Rodri of Spain has been named as the Player of the Tournament. Rodri was instrumental in manning the defense and distributing the ball for the offensive of Spain all through the tournament.

As per the new rule by UEFA, all top scorers Cody Gakpo (Netherlands), Harry Kane (England), Georges Mikautadze (Georgia), Jamal Musiala (Germany), Dani Olmo (Spain) and Ivan Schranz (Slovakia) have been awarded the Golden Boot. They all had scored three goals each.

Harry Kane and Dani Olmo had the chance to emerge as lone top goal scorers in the final but, both the players found it difficult to score a goal. Olmo was denied once in the final, however, the English captain could not take find a shot targeted to the net in Berlin.
UEFA announced that this year’s Golden Boot will be shared among all players who finish with the most goals, replacing the previous tiebreaker criteria based on assists and minutes played.
