Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal, surpassing Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé’s record, has become the youngest goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League semi-final after he scored against Inter Milan during a spectacular match on Wednesday.
The boy, who is just 17, already has a host of incredible records in the collection at Barcelona. Yamal is now the youngest to score in a Champions League semi-final match. Mbappé had held the record in 2017 at the age of 18. Moreover, the goal came on his 100th appearance for the team.

“He’s the kind of talent who is born every 50 years. I had never seen him live, and he really impressed me today,” Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said after the match.
“Lamine Yamal caused us so many problems in the last 25 minutes of the first half,” he added.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick described the 17-year-old “as a genius” after putting out a latent talent show during the match. Yamal has four Champions League goals and four assists in 11 games. He had scored in every stage of the competition so far.
Apart from that, Barcelona’s Raphinha too had broke the record of Lionel Messi when he assisted Barcelona’s second goal in the semi-final match. He broke the record by assisting in Barcelona’s second goal during the match. The Brazilian, in total, has now 20 goal contributions, the most by a Barcelona player in a single Champions League season, surpassing Messi’s earlier tally of 19 during the 2011–12 season.
He had also levelled with his teammate Robert Lewandowski in the overall records of the Champions League.

As for the match, Barcelona and Inter Milan served up an enthralling 3–3 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi final. It was fifteen years on from the last time these sides have come face to face in a Champions League knockout match. Barcelona twice came from behind to secure a dramatic draw against Inter Milan in a thrilling six-goal first leg, leaving their Champions League semi-final finely balanced.
