India and Pakistan will renew their rivalry when they meet once again in the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad for their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 clash. Both the teams will meet on Saturday after winning their two opening matches.
Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is all set to face their arch rivals Pakistan. This is the eighth meeting between India and Pakistan in 50 over World Cup. And Pakistan is yet to beat them in the World Cup matches.
The dream 11 players who will be on the field for India are: Rohit Sharam (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (Wicket Keeper), Hardik Pandya (VC), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and Muhammed Siraj.
While the 11 players of Pakistan who are set to face India are: Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam (C), Muhammad Rizwan (Wicket Keeper), Saud Shakeel, Ifitikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan (VC), Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf.
The best part for the Indian team is that their opening batsman Shubman Gill who had missed his first two games due to dengue fever will rejoin the team in Ahmedabad. At the same time, Pakistan’s batting change against Sri Lanka has created wonders with Abdullah Shafique scoring a fine century on his World Cup debut.
The most anticipated match kickstarted with a colourful star studded show though it has left fans wondering why a mid-tournament match is being accorded more important than the tournament opener.
Tickets of the match was reportedly sold out within an hour of going on sale a few weeks ago.
