Manchester United have agreed a deal with Fiorentina for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. 27-year old Morrocan defensive midfielder Amrabat has been linked with a move to the Red Devils since July and has not participated in Fiorentina’s opening matches of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, an authority in football transfers, the deal will involve an initial loan move for a fee of around 10 million euros with a clause to make the transfer permanent in June 2024 for a fee of around 20 million euros with five million in add-ons.

Amrabat, born in Netherlands, represents Morocco in international football, receiving plaudits for his performances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Amrabat reportedly has previously agreed personal terms with Atlético Madrid and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, adding a new midfielder has long been a priority for Ten Hag, and Sofyan Amrabat would appear to be edging closer to completing his long-awaited switch to Old Trafford having been chased all summer.

So far this summer, United have completed the signings of Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, and Mount.

Amrabat played 107 games for La Viola in those last three seasons, scoring one goal and logging an assist.
