The English international had come through the Liverpool academy and has played 352 times for the first team, winning two Premier League titles – including this season’s. He had helped the club to win the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup trophies in 2019, and even further went on to lift two Carabao Cups, one FA Cup and one Community Shield.

The 26-year-old had begun the season as one of the three key players out of contract this summer. While the team chose to extend the contracts of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s deals by two years, they will now have to lose Alexander.
Meanwhile, according to football analyst Fabrizio Romano, he had already signed all the documents to finalise the deal with Real Madrid. However, the official arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu is not yet announced. According to Diario AS, Liverpool are reportedly willing to accept a nominal transfer fee of one million euros to facilitate Trent Alexander-Arnold’s early move to Real Madrid, thereby making him eligible to participate in the upcoming Club World Cup.
