Pakistan Olympic Champion Arshad Nadeem’s Instagram account was blocked in India following the terror attack in Pahalgam that has killed 26 Indian tourists in Kashmir. Arshad Nadeem was the recent addition to the list of popular artists, including actors Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Ali Zafar, whose Instagram accounts were blocked in India.
On Wednesday, Arshad’s Instagram account featured a blank page with an official statement explaining the decision – “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict the content.” Meanwhile, his X account is still accessible in India.

However, Pakistan’s high-profile cricketers, both past and present, are still accessible from India. While the account of former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi remained undismissed, the YouTube channels of Afridi and former pacer Shoaib Akhtar have been blocked in India.
The Pakistan javelin thrower had also recently received an invitation to compete in the Neeraj Chopra Classic competition in Bengaluru on May 24, but had declined the invitation citing prior commitments. And following the terror attack,
Neeraj was heavily criticised and his family was also targeted on social media for inviting Arshad. He had cited preparations for the Asian Athletics Championships in Korea in the same month.
“The NC Classic event is from May 24, whereas I am scheduled to leave for Korea on May 22 for the Asian Athletics Championships. I have been training hard for the Asian Championship, which will be held in Gumi from May 27 to 31. I am grateful to Chopra for inviting me to the event,” Nadeem was quoted as saying to PTI.
