Shane Warne's 2016 Tweet On Australia's World Cup Hero Travis Head Goes Viral

The incredible innings from Travis Head, the explosive opener, helped Australia take the World Cup dreams away from India on Sunday, November 19. Amid Australia”s victory, an old post by the late Shane Warne, the Australian spin maestro, is doing the rounds on X (formerly Twitter).

Shane Warne predicted in 2016 that the left-hander Travis Head would be the future star of Australia. “I”m a big fan of Travis Head as a cricketer, I believe he will be a future star for Australia in all forms of the game,” wrote Shane Warne on his X handle on December 6, 2016. Several X users, including Harsha Bhogle, the renowned Indian commentator, reposted Shane Warne”s “prediction” on Travis Head. “Wow, Warnie. You always liked players who took the game on. And Travis Head did,” wrote Harsha Bhogle on X while sharing Shane Warne”s 2016 post.

Earlier on Sunday, the 29-year-old Travis Head”s match-winning knock of 137 silenced the crowd in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Travis Head made 137 runs off 120 balls with 15 fours and four sixes. His performance played a vital role in Australia”s six-wicket win over India. Travis Head also became the Player of the Match in the Cricket World Cup final. Notably, the left-hand batter is the third Australian, after Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist, to score a hundred in a 50-over World Cup final. Travis Head is also the first player to score two hundreds in the men”s ICC tournament finals. The Australian batter scored 163 in the first innings of the World Test Championship final in June against India at the Oval, England.
