Wayne Rooney rolled back the years on Saturday as he netted a sublime free-kick in the Manchester United Legends clash against Celtic.
Rooney sent his right-footed free-kick into the near corner with the Celtic goalkeeper remaining unmoved. The Manchester United legend celebrated the goal with his arms in the air, and the home fans cheered for him. The free-kick was awarded to the home side after Darren Fletcher was fouled by Joe Ledley.

The Legends clash between Manchester United and Celtics finished 1-1 at full-time after Gary Hooper equalized for the Scottish outfit.
Later, Darren O’Dea smashed the winning penalty after Manchester United Legends’ Danny Weber missed from the spot, allowing the Celtic Legends to clinch the match 5-4.
“It was special to be back at Old Trafford today for the Legends game, and it is all for such a good cause,” Rooney said postmatch. “It was great to play here again.
“Manchester United Foundation is doing a great job and being involved for a long time, seeing the work it does first-hand, any time we can give to try to help, it’s always great to do that. It’s a great cause.
“It is important that we continue to do what we can, when we can, to support the Foundation and continue to put smiles on children’s faces.”
The United Legends featured Premier League winners like Ronny Johnsen, Mikael Silvestre, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Dimitar Berbatov while legendary midfielder Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Denis Irwin came on from the bench.
