YouTube, the Google-owned video platform, is reportedly working on a new artificial intelligence-powered music tool for content creators. Bloomberg has reported that the new AI tool will allow the creators to record audio using the voices of famous musicians. The report says that YouTube has initiated a discussion with music companies about securing the rights to songs it could use to train the new tool.

YouTube has not yet provided any official statement regarding this project. However, discussions between the video site and music companies are underway. Bloomberg report also indicated that YouTube was preparing to introduce this AI-powered music tool at its annual “Made on YouTube” event, which was held in September. However, the platform failed to make the launch as they had not secured the rights. It is to be noted that YouTube is the world’s largest streaming platform for music. Earlier in September 2022, YouTube announced that they paid more than $6 billion to the music industry between July 2021 and June 2022.

YouTube launched a number of AI-powered tools at its annual event last month. The platform said that the new products and features will enable people to push the bounds of creative expression. Dream Screen for Shorts was the main tool that was launched during the event. It will allow users to create AI-generated video or image backgrounds for their Shorts simply by typing an idea into a prompt. YouTube has announced a new video editing app, named YouTube Create, to make video production “simpler and easier” for both Shorts and longer videos. It is currently in beta on Android in select markets and is expected to roll out to more users soon.
