Raebareli, August 20: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and local MP Rahul Gandhi today met the family members of the Dalit youth, Arjun Pasi, who was brutally killed recently, in village Pichhwariya and paid his condolence.

Gandhi assured the family that he will ensure that justice in the case is done. He said, the culprits will not be allowed to be let off as the local police appeared to be shielding the mastermind.

Later interacting with the media, the senior Congress leader asserted, “justice will have to be done, there is no other option”. He said, since the victim belonged to a Dalit family, justice was not being done. “Justice for Dalits is non-negotiable”, he remarked, while adding, he will not rest till the family does not get justice.

He alleged that the mastermind in the case was being shielded and protected by the police and only small fry had been detained.

Gandhi observed that it was a clear cut case of grave injustice against the Dalit family and the Dalit community. “Need to rectify it. There is no choice. Justice is non-negotiable”, he said.
