New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday pledged support to her brother Rahul Gandhi after the Supreme Court rebuked him over his remarks on the Army which he made during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
The apex court on Monday stayed the proceedings in a criminal defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over his remarks that “Chinese troops are thrashing Indian soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh”. However, the court criticised the Congress leader, stating that a true Indian would not utter such a thing.

While talking to reporters Congress MP said: “With due respect to the honourable judges, they do not decide who a true Indian is. It is the duty of the Opposition Leader to question the government. My brother would never speak against the Army, he holds them in the highest respect. This is a misinterpretation.”
The remark by Rahul Gandhi was in reference to the India-China military confrontation that occurred in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh in December 2022.
