Emirates announced to sponsor America”s Cup, one of the oldest and best-known trophies in international sailing yacht competition. Emirates decided to be the Global Partner and Official Airline of the 37th America”s Cup. Emirates shared the news on X (formerly twitter)

President of Emirates, Sir Timothy Clark remarked the America”s Cup to be the “Everest of sailing”. He said, “Emirates is proud to expand our in world-class sailing by sponsoring the 37-th America”s Cup and the events which will lead up to the final face off in Barcelona. The America”s Cup is the Everest of sailing, serving thrilling action and offering spectacular moments at every juncture”.
Emirates has also sponsored the 36th America”s Cup Auckland and Emirates Team New Zealand in 2021. Emirates has recently renewed its naming rights after reigning America”s Cup Champions, Emirates Team New Zealand.
The America”s Cup preliminary regattas will be held in Barcelona and Jeddah. Emirates will also have sponsorship visibility across the event”s channels, which includes social medias and other digital platforms and official materials along with Race village activations and hospitality.
All participating teams of 37th America”s Cup will race their AC75 America”s Cup class yachts. The preliminary regatta will be on 14th and 17th September 2023 at Vilanova i la Geltru before the team move towards Saudi Arabia”s Jeddah for the second regatta in November 29th and December 2nd.The main America”s Cup will take place in Barcelona, Spain on 12th October.
Emirates has started involving in the sailing sports since 2004. Earlier this year, Emirates partnered with one of world”s most decorated sailing teams, the Great Britain SailGP Team for a sponsorship deal for the next three season. Along with the Emirates”s branding on the wing and hull of the race boat, its “Fly Better” logo will also be displayed by the Great British F50 race boat. Emirates and Great Britain SailGP has decided to support a number of initiative across sustainability and gender balance during the racing seasons.
