Italy Says Its Military Base In Iraq Attacked; 'No Casualties To Personnel'
Italy: The Italian defense ministry on Thursday, March 12, said that its military base in Iraq’s Kurdistan was struck by a missile. The Italian military base in the Kurdish region of Erbil came under attack in an overnight strike.
The defense ministry explained that there are no casualties or injuries among the Italian personnel, and all are fine. The development comes amid US-Israel military offensive in Iran the the Islamic Republic’s retaliation in Israel and the US bases across the region.

Iran has stated that all the US and Israel military establishment and their allies’ will be targeted in the region. Earlier, there were reports that Italy is planning to send air defence aid to Gulf countries and naval assets to Cyprus after Iranian air strikes.
However, on Wednesday, Italian prime minister Georgia Meloni had clarified it is not joining US-Israel military intervention in Iran while condemning the killing of girls in southern Iran and demanded accountability.
