Saudi Says Houthi Missile Injures Civilian, Weighs Multi-Front Offensive Against Houthis In Yemen
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: On Friday, Houthi in Yemen reportedly fired ballistic missile at Saudi Arabia. According to Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defense, the Saudi force intercepted and destroyed the missile, which shrapnel fell in a building, injuring Asian expatriate resident and caused material damage to a prayer room inside a building.
Emergency procedures were immediately implemented at the site following the attack. Since Saudi and its coalition force backed by Yemeni government launched attack against Houthis, the Yemeni militia has been retaliating, targeting military infrastructure across Saudi Arabia.

Notably, with the latest attack, Saudi Arabia is considering strong offensive against Iran-backed Houthi forces, including a coastal operation to regain control of the Bab el-Mandeb strait or coordinated attacks across several fronts.
While Yemeni force backed by Saudi would lead the ground operation, Riyadh would conduct air strikes. The Saudi expects that it can mobilise more than 100,000 Yemeni troops could be mobilised, depending on its scale. The Houthis had made advances in several regions of Yemen since the conflict began.
The Saudi-led attack aims to reverse Houthi advances last month, when the group moved down Yemen’s coast and seized the strait. Officials said Riyadh was weighing either an assault focused on Bab el-Mandeb or a wider campaign involving synchronised attacks in Al-Bayda, Marib, Taiz and Al-Jawf.
