Win Prize Worth $50,000 In Dubai Photography HIPA 2025, Submit By May 31 (image- pixabay)

The prestigious international photography award, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced its fourteenth season, in 2025, inviting entries worldwide. The theme for the season was announced as ‘Power’. The participants who are planning to send their entries can explore the multifaceted nature of power — be it natural, technological, political, or social — through one’s skilful, compelling visual narratives.

The HIPA Award 2025 winner will be awarded $40,000. The second cash prize is $30,000 and the third prize is $20,000.

The competition, established in 2011 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, aims to promote the art of photography and support photographers worldwide. And each year, the competition is held on a different theme. Apart from Power, this season features four other categories as well.

Drone Video category, in which participants can submit their entry of drone videography, invites the participants to showcase compelling narratives captured through aerial perspectives.

In the Portfolio category, the participants will have to submit 5 to 10 photographs, together narrating a compelling story. In the Black and White photographs category, participants can express their creativity without any constraints.

All photographers aged 18 and above can participate in the competition. The deadline for the photograph to be submitted is May 31, 2025 (11:59 PM, UAE local time). There is no entry fee charged. The entries must be submitted through the official HIPA website: www.hipa.ae

Participants can submit one photo per category, except for the Portfolio category, which requires 5 to 10 images. The Drone (Video) category accepts one video submission.

HIPA 2025 offers a total prize pool of $1 million, distributed as follows:

• Grand Prize: $200,000 (awarded to one winner from any category)

• Power: 1st Prize: $40,000; 2nd Prize: $30,000; 3rd Prize: $20,000

• Drone (Video): 1st Prize: $40,000; 2nd Prize: $30,000; 3rd Prize: $20,000

• Sports Photography: 1st Prize: $40,000; 2nd Prize: $30,000; 3rd Prize: $20,000

• Portfolio (Story-Telling): 1st Prize: $50,000; 2nd Prize: $40,000; 3rd Prize: $30,000

• General (Colour and Black & White):
