UAE’s fuel delivery service provider Cafu has announced that it will be reintroducing the delivery fee for its services. The company has announced that the fees would be charged from Thursday, April 24 onwards. Cafu also had sent a note on the app to its customers saying there is “a small change (happenin) so we can keep doing things right.”
“For years, we’ve delivered fuel and car services to your doorstep — fast, smooth, and free of delivery charges. But let’s be honest, keeping a service like this running city-wide, 24/7, with the level of care and quality you expect, takes a lot behind the scenes,” added the note from Cafu.

Earlier, Cafu had offered free fuel delivery. And now as the service charges are being charged, the fee would vary depending on the service selected by the customer. Priority delivery, which brings home the delivery in 20 minutes, will now cost customers Dh 20. Standard delivery (up to 2 hours) will cost Dh 16, and overnight delivery (12 am to 6 am) will be priced at Dh 12.
Cafu began its free delivery in July 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, before that, the company had charged on delivery and the payment option included a pre-order fee or a monthly subscription when they first launched in 2018. And over the years, Cafu had expanded its delivery beyond just fuel. The company has also provided mobile car washing, oil changes, battery replacement, tire services, and EV charging, which are a major part of the company’s revenue stream.

Meanwhile, the Dubai-based delivery service is now looking to raise funds by selling a stake in the business for the first time. The startup was founded by a member of a prominent Emirati merchant family, reports Bloomberg. Apart from Dubai, the company had also been active outside the regions as well, with operations in Canada.
