Trump To Visit Saudi Arabia, UAE And Qatar In May
President Donald Trump will plan to visit GCC countries Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and UAE next month, the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday. The trip is planned to take place from May 13–May 16. This will be his second visit after returning to office, following his attendance at the Vatican for Pope Francis’s funeral on Saturday.
“The President looks to strengthen the ties between the United States and these countries which he will be visiting,” Ms. Leavitt said on Tuesday. “He’ll be having many bilateral meetings and talks,” Secretary added.

Last month, the US President had announced that he likely to visit the Middle East in the months ahead. Leavitt has said that the trip was intended to help “strengthen ties” with the Middle Eastern countries. The confirmation came after the US announced and then temporarily paused a series of tariffs on all trading partners, including UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
The trip is expected to feature discussions on economic issues, including tariffs, as well as other economic issues. Trump has earlier emphasised that the focus of the visit would be on finalising a significant deal which he believes to have a major impact on the US economy. He, in an agreement, mentioned that it could result in investments upward of $1 trillion, which includes purchases of military equipment as well. In a statement, Trump remarked, “Tremendous jobs will be created in those two or three days,” though he did not provide specific details about the agreements.

During his first term in the White House, the US President had travelled to Saudi Arabia, after which Riyadh had made $450 billion worth of investments in US companies. He said Saudi Arabia has this time promised to more than double that amount, with a pledge that amounts to nearly $1 trillion.
