Houthis Attack Military Facility In Saudi Arabia’s Najran Region, At Least 11 Wounded

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: In a renewed wave of attacks by Yemen-based Houthis, the Iran-backed group has stepped up strikes on Saudi Arabia, resulting in casualties the kingdom has not witnessed in years. Footage showed  large fire in Saudi Arabia’s Najran region just hours after Yemen said it targeted a military facility. Najran is bordering with Yemen.

Late Thursday, the Yemeni group launched an attack targeting southern Saudi Arabia, according to the Riyadh-led coalition. The casualties included seven Saudis, two Egyptians, one Yemeni and one Pakistani.

Local media reported loud explosions as the Yemeni drone attack targeted Saudi-backed militia positions in the Hadhramaut province. Saudi Arabia was reportedly preparing for attacks on ports and airports by Iraqi factions operating with the Houthi movement.

The Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the strikes targeted government forces in response to what he described as a Saudi-backed military buildup against its operation.
