Zomato, an Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery company founded in 2008, announced today that it is introducing ‘India’s first large order fleet’ for large orders.

“Today, we are excited to introduce India’s first large order fleet, designed to handle all your large (group/party/event) orders with ease. This is an all electric fleet, designed specifically to serve orders for a gathering of upto 50 people,” Mr Goyal wrote on X.

Recently, Zomato’s decision to introduce a green uniform for those delivering food to vegetarians was cancelled after backlash.

Now, one of the largest food delivery platforms in the world, the company was initially launched as “Foodiebay,” and it was later rebranded as Zomato in 2010.

Headquartered in Gurugram, India, it has expanded its operations globally, serving millions of users across over 10,000 cities in over 20 countries.

The platform’s key features include detailed restaurant listings with menus, photos, user reviews, and ratings, offering diners valuable insights to make informed choices. Zomato’s user-friendly interface and advanced search algorithms allow users to discover restaurants based on various criteria, from cuisine preferences to dietary restrictions and budget constraints.

Beyond restaurant discovery, Zomato’s food delivery service enables users to order meals online for home delivery or takeaway, leveraging its extensive network of partner restaurants and delivery personnel. This service has become particularly popular in urban areas, where busy lifestyles and the convenience of ordering food online drive demand.
