Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the summon issued by the Delhi Police against him over the circulation of an alleged edited video of the Home Minister. Declaring that no one is going to get scared by the summon, Revanth Reddy stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now “using Delhi Police to win elections.”
While issuing the summon, the Delhi police today asked the Chief Minister to join the probe by May 1 and record his statement.
While speaking at Karnataka”s Kalaburagi, the Chief Minister alleged that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah used the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Income Tax (IT) so far to win elections. “But today I got to know that Delhi Police has reached the office of Telangana Congress party. Someone posted something on social media and they have come to arrest the Telangana Congress president and Telangana CM. This means Narendra Modi is using Delhi Police to win elections now,” the Chief Minister was heard saying in a video shared by the news agency ANI.

Four other Congress leaders have also been served the notices. The BJP has accused that the Congress Telangana official X handle shared the edited video of the Home Minister. Several party leaders had also reported the doctored video on reservation quotas. Amit Shah was reportedly seen suggesting abolishing reservation quotas for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the purported fake video. However, the BJP claimed that the edited video was meant to manipulate the Home Minister”s remark.
Following the complaints, the Delhi Police has registered a case under Sections 153, 153A, 465, 469, 171G of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 66C of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
