Triumph Speed 400 And Scrambler 400X: First Price Hike And Continued Appeal

Written by S Das

Triumph’s 400cc offerings, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, have recently witnessed their inaugural price hike following the conclusion of their introductory pricing phase earlier this year. With an increase of Rs 1,500 each, the ex-showroom prices for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X now stand at Rs 2,34,497 and Rs 2,64,496, respectively.

Introduced to the Indian market last year, the Speed 400 debuted at an introductory price of Rs 2.23 lakh, which took the industry by surprise due to its exceptional level of finish and offerings. Similarly, the Scrambler 400X followed suit, launching later in the same year at a competitive price of Rs 2.62 lakh, undercutting its rivals significantly.

Following the successful reception and the accumulation of over 10,000 bookings, Triumph decided to conclude the introductory pricing for the Speed 400, raising its price marginally to Rs 2.33 lakh, ex-showroom. Despite this initial price hike, both motorcycles remain highly attractive in terms of affordability within their segment.

The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are powered by a shared 398cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, generating 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This places them competitively among their closest rivals, including the KTM 390 Duke, Bajaj Dominar, KTM 390 Adventure, and the recently launched Royal Enfield Himalayan.

With their recent price adjustments, the Triumph 400 twins continue to offer a compelling proposition for enthusiasts seeking a balance of performance, style, and affordability. Despite the slight increase in pricing, their competitive positioning within the market segment ensures that they remain strong contenders among discerning riders.

Looking ahead, Triumph’s 400cc offerings are poised to maintain their relevance and popularity, appealing to riders who prioritize both value and quality in their motorcycle purchases. As the brand continues to innovate and expand its product lineup, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X stand as prime examples of Triumph’s commitment to delivering exceptional motorcycles tailored to the needs of modern riders.

In conclusion, the recent price hike for the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X marks a strategic move by the brand to align with market dynamics while ensuring that the motorcycles remain competitive and desirable choices for enthusiasts. With their blend of performance, style, and affordability, these 400cc offerings continue to uphold Triumph’s legacy of crafting iconic and captivating motorcycles that resonate with riders worldwide.
