2025 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Range Priced From Rs 12.75- Rs 15.50 lakh

Triumph has released its most recent Speed Twin 1200 models. The base model costs Rs 12.75 lakh, while the more expensive RS model costs Rs 15.50 lakh. The engine, general design, and most of features are same in both variants. It all boils down to the cycle components. The same 1,200cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine powers the Speed Twin 1200 and RS, but it now has a redesigned cam, a sharper tune, and a higher redline of 8,000 rpm. Its current ratings are 112 Nm at 4,250 rpm and 105 horsepower at 7,750 rpm. It produces 500 rpm later in the rev range and has 5 horsepower more power than the previous Thruxton.

The RS is the first Triumph neo-retro model to use a bidirectional quickshifter, however both versions have a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Because of the different footpeg positioning on the normal 1200, this device cannot be installed on it.  The LCD/TFT unit from the Trident 660 has replaced the two digi-analogue dials in the instrumentation of the Speed two 1200 versions. These days, an increasing number of Triumph models, notably the recently released Speed Twin 900, include this unit. Both Speed Twin variants have the same switchgear and come with a USB-C charging connection.

The ergonomics of the standard 1200 are comparatively more pleasant than those of the higher-spec RS, which features more rearset footpegs and lower bars. With Brembo Stylema calipers coupled to 320mm discs, Ohlins shock absorbers, and a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork, the RS is also the better-equipped of the two. Metzeler Racetec RR rubber, which is extremely sticky, is used to roll the RS model. As expected, the standard Speed Twin 1200’s cycle components are less complicated than the RS’s. Marzocchi provides the dual shock absorbers and a non-adjustable 43mm fork that manage the suspension. The basic Speed Twin rolls on the Metzeler M9RR tires and Triumph-branded radial 4-piston calipers bite down on two 320mm discs to handle the braking.

White, red, and silver are the three colour possibilities for the normal Speed Twin 1200, while black and orange are the paint options for the RS model. In true Triumph form, a plethora of factory-supplied optional equipment are available, such as a single seat for that classic cafe racer appearance and, for the first time, clip-on bars.

The basic Speed Twin 1200 costs Rs 12.75 lakh, which represents a substantial Rs 1.66 lakh premium over the previous model (Rs 11.09 lakh). The Ducati Monster SP and the Rs 15.50 lakh Speed Twin 1200 RS are located in the same ballpark. The BMW R12 nineT, which is significantly more expensive at Rs 20.90 lakh, will be the Triumph 1200s’ main competition.
