Prataprao Jadhav To Contest For Third Time From Buldhana Constituency

Eknath led-Shiv Sena has fielded Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav as the candidate from the Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency. He is the current sitting MP from the Buldhana constituency.

Born in 1960, Prataprao hails from Mehkar, Maharashtra. Before embarking a career in national politics, he has served three terms as a Member of the Legislative assembly of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Member of the State Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Irrigation in the Government of Maharashtra.

Prataprao has represented the Buldhana constituency in the Lok Sabha for three consecutive terms starting in 2009, 2014 and again in 2019. His political journey in the Lok Sabha began with his election in the 2009 general elections, which he successfully contested from the Buldhana constituency. He held on to the seat in 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency is one among the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. The voter percentage during the 2019 Parliament election was recorded to be at 63.6 per cent.

The prominent candidates contesting in the 2024 Buldhana Lok Sabha Constituency elections include Prataprao Jadhav from Shiv Sena and Vasat Rajaram Magar from Vanchit Bahujan Agadi.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao, the candidate from Shiv Sena, emerged victorious in the Buldhana constituency. He has secured 521,977 votes. The SHS candidate defeated NCP’s Ranjendra Bhaskarrav Shingne, who garnered 388,690 votes. The Shiv Sena secured 47 per cent of the total votes.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the Shiv Sena candidate Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao emerged victorious in the Buldhana constituency securing 521,977 votes. He defeated Rajendra Bhaskarrav Shingne from the NCP, who has garnered 388,690 votes.
