Written by Timeline Sports Desk

All-rounder Manav Suthar made his Gujarat Titans debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Saturday. He replaced R Sai Kishore, to cut the playing XI.

Suthar, who was picked up for his base price of INR 20 lakh in the IPL Auction 2024, is a left-arm spinner. He has scalped 65 wickets in first-class cricket and scalped 15 wickets in his List A career. He has featured in seven T20 matches, picking up four wickets at an average of 37.75.

“We have two changes, Manav Suthar makes his debut and Josh Little comes in,” Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill said at the toss.

Suthar, born in Sri Nagar, Rajasthan, made his Ranji trophy debut in the 2021-22 edition. His breakthrough performance came in the following season. One of his best moments was when he dismissed Kerala captain Sanju Samson in both the innings.

The 21-year-old also displayed his magic in the ACC Men’s Emerging Cup as he finished as the third-highest wicket-taker with 10 scalps to his name at an average of 19.20 and economy rate of 4.20. Besides that, he was the leading wicket-taker in the India vs Afghanistan U-19 series in 2019.

The spinner was also roped in as net bowler for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 but he went unsold that season.
