The NEET 2024 UG or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2024 exam will be held for more than 24 lakh candidates at different centers located in 557 cities throughout India and 14 cities abroad on May 5 (Sunday) from 02:00 P.M. to 05:20 P.M. The National Testing Agency (NTA), national level examination conducting agency, will organise the medical entrance examination for admission to MBBS and allied courses in the medical colleges across the country.
NEET 2024 Admit Card
Candidates should make sure that the NEET admit card downloaded from the official website should prominently display candidate’s photograph, signature, and roll number barcode. According to NTA these details are crucial for identification and verification purposes during the examination. If these essential elements missing on your NEET admit card, candidates may download the admit card again from the NTA Website (exams.nta.ac.in/NEET) and take a print out.
All candidates are required to download and carefully read the instructions given with the NEET admit card and strictly adhere to them. The NEET admit card would consists of three pages- Page 1 – the Centre details and Self Declaration (Undertaking) form, Page 2 has a “Postcard Size Photograph” and “Page 3 has “Important instructions for Candidates”. The candidate must download all three pages and bring pasted photograph on Page-2 before arriving at the center, the NTA notification said.
NEET 2024 Exam Centres
NEET aspirants who have registered for the entrance cum eligibility test are advised to arrive at their designated examination centers in time to complete all pre-examination formalities efficiently. The NTA hopes this will facilitate a seamless and orderly conduct of the examination. The candidate must reach the NEET exam centre at the time indicated against reporting or entry time at the centre in the admit card. According to NTA, no candidate will be permitted to enter the centre after the gate closing- time.
The NTA has asked candidates to verify the location of the examination venue, a day in advance so that they do not face any problem on the day of examination. No candidate would be allowed to enter the examination centre, without admit card, valid ID proof, and proper frisking.
NEET 2024: Frisking
The officials at the NEET examination centre will conduct frisking of the candidates through Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD). According to an NTA notification, if religion or customs require a candidate to wear specific attire, such candidates may visit the centre early for thorough checking.
Apart From the biometric attendance and frisking at entry, candidates will be frisked and biometric attendance will be taken again on entry from bio-break/toilets break.
NEET 2024: During the exam
NTA has notified that no candidate shall be permitted to leave the examination room or hall before the end of the examination. On completion of the NEET examination, candidate may wait for instructions from the invigilator and do not get up from your seat until advised. The candidates will be permitted to move out one at a time only, the NTA said.
Rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose in the test booklet only. According to NTA, failure to do so may result in the non-evaluation of your answers.
On completion of the test, candidates must hand over the OMR Sheet (both Original and Office Copy) and take away only the test booklet with them, and no bio-breaks will be allowed during first one hour after beginning of the exam and last half an hour of the exam.
NEET 2024: Permissible items
Candidates will be permitted to carry only the following items with them into the examination venue:
- Personal transparent water bottle.
- Additional photograph same as uploaded on application form, to be pasted on attendance sheet
- Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) having postcard size photograph affixed on the designated space downloaded from the NTA website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
- PwD Certificate and Scribe- documents, if applicable
NEET 2024: Prohibited items
Candidates are not allowed to carry any personal belongings including electronic devices, mobile phones, and other banned or prohibited items listed in the information bulletin to the examination centre. Examination Officials will not be responsible for the safe keep of personal belongings and there will be no facility at the center.
NEET 2024: Application of AI
NTA uses Al based real time analytical tools and technologies to map likely or potential use of unfair means or cheating behavior by candidates at all centres, both during and post exams.
NTA will analyse CCTV recordings using Al technologies to confirm malpractice with evidence.
Examination centers are continuously monitored through artificial intelligence-enabled systems to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
