After a video of Shah Rukh Khan lookalike Ibrahim Qadri attending a political rally of the Congress candidate Praniti Shinde in Maharashtra’s Solapur went viral, the BJP raised an objection, calling it a “scam.”

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala shared the photos of the incident and tagged the election commission and Shah Rukh Khan. He wrote, “Imagine the lengths to which the party can go to fool people so brazenly & openly. Peddling fake surveys, making up fake anti India narratives, using AI generated Deep Fakes of celebrities & now this. Now you know why this party is already blaming EVMs.”

Recently, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan released a press release after a deep fake video of the actor promoting the political party. The actor has lodged an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police.

Ibrahim Qadri’s video of him participating in Shinde’s campaign in Solapur has been making the rounds across social media. Qadri, who used to work painting walls and hoardings, can be seen waving to the crowd with similar mannerisms to King Khan.

Hailing from Junagadh, Gujarat, Ibrahim Qadri gained fame through social media after people started noticing the striking resemblance between him and Shah Rukh Khan. Recently, a video of Qadri mimicking Khan’s iconic pose at an airport security check went viral, garnering over 50 million views on Instagram.

Qadri claims that it was after the release of the superstar’s film Raees that he worked on his physical appearance and body language, getting invitations for social events. From Dubai to Muscat, Qadri’s fame spread with his own set of fans.

When asked about finally meeting the Badshah of Bollywood, Qadri said that he does not wish to meet the actor because it would affect his passion. However, he added that he would gladly meet Khan if the actor expressed a desire to meet him.
