Australia women’s team all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner announced her engagement with long-time girlfriend Monica Wright in an Instagram post on Friday.
Gardner, who has been reportedly dating Monica since 2021, took to Instagram to showcase their engagement ring along with their picture after the ring-exchange ceremony. “Mrs. Gardner has a nice ring to it 💍🤍,” Gardner said on her Instagram post.

The post received a lot of love and support from cricketers and fans across the world. Gardner’s national teammates Alana King and Megan Schutt were among the first to comment on the Instagram post.
“So in love with this 🥹🤍,” Alana King commented on the Instagram post.
“Yeahhhhhh the girls ❤️ congrats lovers!! Xx,” Megan Schutt said.

While there is little information available about Monica; she has accompanied the cricketer in various ceremonies, besides supporting her in the stadium. The couple were recently spotted at the Australian Cricket Awards as Gardner posted a picture of the couple, captioning it as, “Australian Cricket Awards with my lady ❤️🔥 Special night and a huge honour to have received this award. Thank you for all the kind messages xx”.
Gardner has amassed 2583 runs in international cricket in 163 matches and scalped 180 wickets. She has won the T20 World Cup thrice, 50-Over World Cup once, and secured the Commonwealth Games gold with the Australian squad.
