Written by Timeline Sports Desk

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) has put batting carnage on display in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and continued on their juggernaut in the clash against Delhi Capitals on Saturday.

The franchise registered its third score over 260 runs with Travis Head (89) and Abhishek Sharma (46) making a phenomenal start to the proceedings to reach 125 runs in six overs. Later, Shahbaz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 59 off 29 deliveries, including two boundaries and five sixes, to take SRH to a mammoth total of 266/7 in the stipulated 20 overs.

The SRH batting approach has left a lot of cricket fanatics baffled, including the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

“What is it with @SunRisers that they’ve gotten past 260 thrice in this season alone! 🤯,” Tendulkar said on X.

“Today was a game where they completely outclassed @DelhiCapitals. They, of course, batted well thanks to a mind-boggling start by @travishead34 & @IamAbhiSharma4 and a wonderful finish by Shahbaz. And in the 2nd half of the game, they bowled much better than DC, with their variations proving to be very effective. Well played, SRH!,” the master blaster added.

Head was awarded the player of the match for his match-winning performance. “It’s nice, we are on a roll. Boys are playing well, very enjoyable. Just tried to stay relaxed and hit the ball. Need to keep things simple, need to react to the balls,” he said.

“Very pleased to continue with the same form. He (Abhishek Sharma) plays well in the powerplay. He’s aggressive against spin, just let him do his things. Very enjoyable partnership with him. It’s hard to pick which guys are going to be the (impact) sub, everyone can bowl and contribute,” the Australian added.

Earlier, SRH had posted a total of 277/3 against Mumbai Indians and 287/3 against RCB, which is the highest total ever scored in the T20s.
