Written by Timeline Sports Desk

Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli arrived at the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Airport on Friday evening for the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

RCB, sitting with a wooden spoon at the bottom of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 points table, are slated to face second-placed KKR at the Eden Gardens, on Sunday. Ahead of the important clash, Kohli was captured in a video travelling solo to Kolkata.

In a video posted by a Virat Kohli fan page on Twitter, the former India captain can be seen arriving at the airport amid tight security and large cheers from the fans. “King Virat Kohli’s arrival at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport, Kolkata! 👑🛬,” the fan page on X captioned the video.

Kohli has been in fine form in the IPL 2024 as he has amassed 361 runs in seven matches at an average over 72. He has one century and two half-centuries to his name with a strike rate of 147.34. The veteran India batter scored 42 runs in RCB’s last match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and will be looking to make it count against KKR to give the visitors a slender chance to stay alive in the playoffs race.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru franchise have lost five matches on the trot and will be looking to break the duck against an in-form KKR side.
